Below, you’ll find all the information you need regarding Maryland Symphony Orchestra ticket purchases, exchanges, refunds, and other ticket related policies. Whether you’re a subscriber, single ticket holder, or interested in our inclement weather and performance cancellation policies, we have you covered. Please review the following guidelines to ensure a smooth and delightful visit to The Maryland Theatre.
All patrons, including infants, toddlers, and children, must have a valid ticket to attend our performances. All tickets, whether printed or electronically presented on your phone, will be validated using the barcode provided. If the barcode on your ticket becomes damaged, please contact the Box Office for replacement tickets at (301) 797-4000.
Single Ticket Holders All Maryland Symphony Orchestra tickets are subject to a $5 per ticket fee, regardless of how you purchase your ticket (in-person, online, or by phone). Applicable ticket fees will be disclosed to you over the phone or in person, or automatically added to your online shopping cart during checkout. Subscribers Per-ticket fees are waived at the time of the initial subscription purchase. Instead, a flat $15 processing fee is assessed on this initial order. Subscribers who wish to purchase additional tickets after their initial subscription purchase will still receive the applicable subscriber discount on the base price of the ticket, but will be subject to the standard $5 per ticket fee.
All tickets are pre-paid and non-refundable. All sales are final. Performances, schedules, programs, and artists are subject to change. If a performance is canceled or postponed, a full refund of the ticket price will be made available.
Subscribers may exchange tickets for another Maryland Symphony Orchestra concert at no cost. Exchanges must be for tickets of equal or lesser value, and there is no refund for the difference if the exchanged ticket is of lesser value than the original ticket. Single Ticket Holders may only exchange tickets for another performance of the same concert (e.g., switching from Saturday to Sunday). Exchanges for a different concert are not permitted. The tickets must be of equal or lesser value, and there is no refund for the difference if the exchanged ticket is of lesser value than the original ticket. Please contact the Box Office at (301) 797-4000 no later than the Thursday before the concert you are unable to attend. No exchanges will be honored on the day of a performance.
For classical performances, all children, including students in grades K-12, and currently enrolled college students (undergraduate and graduate) are eligible to attend for FREE*! Simply contact our Box Office to order those complimentary tickets. * The FREE student ticket program is only available for classical performances and is limited to non-premium seating sections. Looking for an upgrade? A student discount is available for premium seating sections at classical performances.
Performances by the Maryland Symphony Orchestra offer a fantastic opportunity to introduce children to the joy and excitement of instrumental music. Beyond our classical series, we present other performances, including Home for the Holidays, MSO Pops!, and licensed film with orchestra presentations. Please note that complimentary lap seating is not available for these performances. All patrons, regardless of age, including infants and toddlers, are required to have a ticket to attend. This is generally due to contractual agreements with the artistic agencies that license the material to us for performance.
If the Maryland Symphony Orchestra is forced to cancel a performance due to inclement weather or other circumstances, the cancellation will be announced no later than three hours before the scheduled start time. The primary sources of cancellation information are the Maryland Symphony Orchestra website and social media channels (Facebook & Instagram). Local television and radio stations may take longer to convey this information, so please consider them as secondary sources. For any questions or concerns, you are always welcome to call the Box Office at (301) 797-4000.
